Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter who was well known for her passionate and bold personal paintings. Frida suffered from polio as a child, and also a bus accident as a teenager. During her recovery, she discovered her passion for painting and also met her husband, Diego Rivera, with whom she has a tumultuous relationship. Through a life of pain and suffering, and Frida’s perseverance throughout it all, this inspirational story is a reminder to strong women who stand their own ground.
On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of women that have often been overlooked and underappreciated. Even today, women are still discriminated against in the workplace, school, and at home - yet they still continue to persevere. Commemorate the courage, strength, and leadership of women and girls around the world on March 8th.
