The Ultimate Vegetarian Food Guide in Prague

Restaurants at Manifesto Market are offering countless vegetarian and vegan options. Being vegetarian is a struggle, especially when eating out. From the limited menu to having to bring your own food to eat, there's always something to worry about. Especially in Prague, with Czech cuisine's emphasis on meat, finding vegetarian restaurants may be difficult. If this is the case for you, then come to Manifesto Anděl and see our plant-based options! We offer a variety of delicious vegetarian dishes from cuisines around the globe for you to try. Even if you’re a meat lover, you won’t want to pass on these veggie options!

 1. Vegetable masala and kathi rolls | Naan & Curry

Indian cuisine is one of the world’s most vegetarian-friendly cuisines. Come get a taste of the aromatic spices of India in the heart of Prague with Naan & Curry! Try the vegetable masala with rice or naan - Masala is a blend of ground spices used to bring out the flavor and aroma of dishes, so you won’t skip out on flavor with this dish! Don’t forget to also try the kathi rolls, which are a street-food that originally consisted of kebabs wrapped in paratha bread. The kathi rolls are filled with paneer cheese, which is also known as Indian cottage cheese to be vegetarian friendly!

2. Bibimbap, kimbap, and kimchi | 밥 Bab;rýže

If you’re looking for a hearty veggie option that is filling, look no further! Try Bab;rýže’s plant-based bibimbap that contains rice, assorted vegetables, and a fried egg on top with a spicy red chili sauce. In Korean, ‘bibim’ means mix, and ‘bap’ means rice, so bibimbap literally means mixed rice, which refers to how you eat the dish by mixing all the ingredients together. Another popular Korean vegetarian dish that you can try is kimbap, which includes rice and strips of vegetables rolled in dried seaweed, and sliced into bite-sized pieces. If you’re feeling adventurous, also try some kimchi! Kimchi is a traditional Korean side dish of spicy fermented vegetables such as cabbage and radishes. Kimchi is a staple for Korean cuisine, so give it a try with your bibimbap or kimbap!

3. Veggie miso ramen and gyoza | TAIKO Ramen Bar

For those who love noodles, Manifesto has you covered! Taiko Ramen Bar has a veggie miso ramen, with a miso base, shiitake and enoki mushrooms, bok choy, and a marinated egg. If you want something extra along with your ramen, try the veggie gyoza! Gyozas are a Japanese style dumpling often filled with ground meat and vegetables, and always go great as a side for ramen. This plant-based gyoza will be a great choice for vegetarian options in Prague.

4. Tofu Shoyu and Avocado Boom poké bowls | NAPOKĒ

If you’re looking to get some protein in your meal, poké is a delicious option for you to try. Poké is a traditional Native Hawaiian dish usually served with raw fish and vegetables on rice. But don’t worry, there are vegetarian versions in Prague available for you at NAPOKĒ! Try the Tofu Shoyu bowl with marinated tofu, rice, and an assortment of vegetables. If tofu isn’t your thing, then try the Avocado Boom, which has avocado and additional vegetables on a bed of rice.

5. Tacos vegetarianos and Veggie nachos | Alebrijes Cocina Mexicana

You can never go wrong with tacos! If you’re in the mood for Mexican cuisine in Prague that is still vegetarian, then you came to the right place. Alebrijes Cocina Mexicana has vegetarian tacos filled with cactus, onion, and zucchini that will be sure to satisfy your cravings. If you're getting tacos, you can't miss out on the popular nachos as well! Try the veggie nachos with guacamole, salsa, sour cream and jalapeños for another great Mexican plant-based option.

6. Veggie Beyond & Veggie Chilli G | Hoxton Burgers

Burgers are another classic that can be hard to find vegetarian options for. You’ll still be able to satisfy your appetite with the Veggie Beyond burger or the Veggie Chili G burger from Hoxton Burgers. Don’t be alarmed when you see the patty - even though it looks like meat, the patty is a completely vegan plant-based “meat”. This is also a great option for meat-lovers who are looking to cut down on meat consumption for health or environmental reasons, and still get that meat taste!

7. Fries | Faency Fries

Looking for a quick snack or a tasty appetizer? Fries are always a good choice! Although fries are vegetarian on their own, don't settle for the same regular fries you always get. Get a taste of Faency Fries in Prague and their fries with sour cream and chives, jalapenos with cheddar, or just plain fries with vegan sauce.

8. Bolinha de queijo | Favela

Who says being vegetarian means only having vegetables? Another great choice for an appetizer or a quick pick-me-up is bolinha de queijo (cheese croquettes) from the Brazilian restaurant Favela! Come experience this delicious cheese stretch yourself in Prague.

Manifesto Anděl also has other tasty vegetarian options that are not listed here, so make sure to come to visit and check all of our options out! It's never a struggle to be vegetarian at Manifesto.
